My favorite witch ... austere, mysterious..

La  mia strega preferita...

austera, un po' inquietante, 

sembra essere uscita da un libro di racconti...

The three witches of Macbeth, commanded by Hecate, the Greek goddess of the moon give the tragedy a supernatural element of the prophecy. They provide Macbeth’s ‘call to action’. Their prophesies drive Macbeth’s thirst for power and enable Lady Macbeth to pursue her own ambitions. They appear on the scene only for a few minutes but they conduct actions as every single incident is connected to the fears and hopes that their words evoke in the listener.

Le tre streghe del Macbeth, comandate da Ecate, dea greca della luna conferiscono alla tragedia un elemento soprannaturale costituito dalla profezia. Le loro profezie guidano la sete di potere di Macbeth e consentono  a Lady Macbeth di perseguire le proprie ambizioni. Compaiano sulla scena solamente per pochi minuti ma sono le motrici dell'intera azione poiché ogni singolo avvenimento è collegato ai timori e le speranze che le loro parole suscitano in chi le ascolta.
