Emily Elizabeth Dickinson (December 10, 1830 – May 15, 1886) was an American poet. Born in Amherst, Massachusetts, to a successful family with strong community ties, she lived a mostly introverted and reclusive life. Her works deal with the small things of everyday life but also  great life themes as love, death, eternity. 

Her fame, all posthumously, was begun with the edition of Poems (1890), then with the publication of her letters (1894, ed.) increased 1931) and even more with the discovery of a large group of other poems, Further poems (1929).

Emily Elizabeth Dickinson (Amherst, 10 dicembre 1830 – Amherst, 15 maggio 1886) è stata una poetessa statunitense considerata tra i maggiori lirici del XIX secolo. Emily condusse una vita solitaria. Le sue opere trattano delle piccolissime cose della vita quotidiana ma anche dei grandi temi della vita dell'anima (amore, morte, eternità).

La sua fama, tutta postuma, s'iniziò con l'edizione dei Poems (1890), si accrebbe con la pubblicazione delle sue lettere (1894, ediz. accresciuta 1931) e ancor più con la scoperta d'un cospicuo gruppo di altre poesie, Further poems (1929).

...in attesa delle fredde giornate la stufa a legna accoglie semplici decori

'Fashion Plate'...dalla Provenza

Ho ricevuto in regalo da mia madre questo meraviglioso quadro. E' stato acquistato da un 'brocante' in Provenza e sul retro c'è la scritta 'Le Follet'.  So che era una rivista di moda molto famosa, una delle più antiche di Parigi considerata uno strumento prezioso per quanti studiano e si interessano alla storia della moda. La rivista è stata pubblicata  settimanalmente dal novembre 1829 al 1871. 'Le Follet' era un 'Parisian fashion plate magazine'  ovvero una rivista che utilizzava la pubblicazione di figurini per mostrare le stoffe e il loro  impiego. Questo metodo era molto in voga tra il 19° e 20° sec. soprattutto tra gli addetti al mestiere che avevano la possibilità di vedere stoffe ed impiego prima di avviare la cucitura. Si diffuse principalmente in Inghilterra ed in Francia. Negli anni successivi, con  l'avvento della fotografia i figurini non furono più prodotti. 

Credo che il quadro sia autentico, se qualcuno ne sa qualcosa in più mi dica pure, sono sempre curiosa di apprendere nuove cose! Grazie:)

Creazione "Le Follet"

I received from my mother this beautiful picture as a gift. It was bought by a' brocante 'in Provence and on the back is the inscription' Le Follet '. I know it was a very famous fashion magazine, one of the oldest in Paris considered a valuable tool for those studying and interested in the history of fashion. The magazine was published weekly from November 1829 to 1871. 'Le Follet' was a 'Parisian fashion magazine plate', a magazine that used the publication of figures to show the fabrics and their use. This method was very popular in the 19th and 20th century, especially among workers because they had a chance to see and use fabric before to start sewing. Spread mainly in England and France. In the following years, with the advent of photography figurines were no longer produced.
