My deer in the wood

Fawn embroidered half a point
Cerbiatto ricamato a mezzo punto

Inspired by "The deer in the wood" by Laura Ingalls Wilder this fawn was embroidered a half stitch  and then I put it as the front of a small basket.

Ispirato a "The deer in the wood" by Laura Ingalls Wilder questo cerbiatto l'ho ricamato su canovaccio a mezzo punto e poi l'ho messo come parte anteriore di cestino portatutto.

Ecco i 'miei cerbiatti' sulla mensola di casa...

Laura Ingalls Wilder was born in 1867 in the log cabin described in Little House in the Big Woods. She and her family traveled by covered wagon across the Midwest. Later, Laura and her husband, Almanzo Wilder, made their own covered-wagon trip with their daughter, Rose, to Mansfield, Missouri. There, believing in the importance of knowing where you began in order to appreciate how far you've come, Laura wrote about her childhood growing up on the American frontier. For millions of readers Laura lives on forever as the little pioneer girl in the beloved Little House books.

She wrote about her hard life living on the frontier of Wisconsin in the 1870's. Laura was only a little girl, but she still needs to help around her family's log cabin. The book describe the homesteading skills Laura learned as she matured along with some adventures along the way. The themes addressed include hard work, homesteading, and family unity. There were  wild animals in the woods, and they must provide for themselves since the nearest town in hours away.

Laura Ingalls Wilder nacque nel 1867 nella casetta di legno descritta in 'Little House in the  Big Wood' il romanzo pubblicato nel 1932. Con la sua famiglia viaggiò su di un carrozzone per tutto il Midwest. Più tardi, Laura, suo marito Almanzo Wilder e la figlia Rose, partirono per il Missouri con il loro carro da viaggio. Nelle sue storie Laura raccontò della sua infanzia trascorsa presso la frontiera americana e 'The deer in the wood' è una delle storie del libro. Per i milioni di lettori Laura rimarrà sempre la piccola pioniera dell'amata casetta del bosco.

Il libro descrive le capacità d'insediamento maturata nella loro famiglia insieme ad alcune avventure della loro avventurosa esistenza. Ella scrisse del duro lavoro, della casa nel bosco ma anche dell'unità di questa famiglia che doveva adattarsi alla vita presso la frontiera del Wiscousin negli anni intorno al 1870. Il lavoro di Laura era prezioso per la famiglia che doveva provvedere a se stessa e agli animali del bosco.
